What is Reiki?

All life is made of energy. The Japanese call it Ki, the Chinese call it Chi, and it is known as Prana in many Asian cultures. In Western society, it is known as the Holy Spirit. We have been feeling and experiencing this energy our whole lives.

A healthy human energy field flows freely and is in constant motion. Contracting, expanding, pulsating, flowing, and radiating. This energy flows along channels called CHAKRAS. Reiki seeks to remove blockages and bring balance to this Universal Life Energy.

WHAT ARE CHAKRAS?

Chakras are energy centres within the body. The human body has 7 main chakras: Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown. Each chakra is primarily responsible for circulating life force to specific endocrine glands, tissues, and organs; however, the entire body is connected through a network of subtle energy pathways. You experience these energy pathways as a “gut feeling” or intuition. The three base chakras primarily relate to our physical body. The fourth centre, the Heart unites the lower energy centres of matter and the upper energy centres of spirit. It is a bridge between our body, mind, emotions, and Spirit. The top three centres relate mainly to our Spiritual awareness.

HOW ENERGY BLOCKAGES LEAD TO DISEASE

Stage 1:  An area of contraction is created around the suppressed energy to prevent its surfacing into our awareness.

Stage 2: The contraction leads to chronic tension in the surrounding tissues.

Stage 3: Tension decreases the flow of physical resources to the area, such as blood, oxygen, nutrients, and life force energy.

Stage 4: Over time, this lack of flow affects the proper functioning of the tissues. The physical tissues are not receiving what they need, and the life force is being depleted by the energy required to keep the suppressed emotion suppressed. The first sign is often fatigue.

Stage 5: If the fatigue is not addressed, the body begins to malfunction in subtle ways: weight gain, sore joints, poor sleep, recurrent infections, and digestive issues.

Stage 6: If we continue to disregard the body’s needs, we experience more and more imbalance. Symptoms worsen until they become full-blown diseases.

Stage 7: Medications will alleviate the symptoms, but IF THE ENERGY BODY HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED, THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ILLNESS HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED.
